The Keeshond Donor's Circle Trust was created when a small group of dedicated Keeshond breeders and owners decided that there needed to be a concerted effort made to better educate owners and to support research efforts on behalf of their beloved breed.  Breed specific disorders such as PHPT, various forms of cancer, fertility, and dietary requirements are among the topics that the Trust plans to bring to the Keeshond community.

The costs of hosting the Keeshond National Specialties has risen over the past few years.  With this in mind, the KDCT has sought and received donations from many generous members and several Keeshond Clubs thereby relieving the hosting clubs of the cost of obtaining respected and informative speakers.  All members of the KDCT are volunteers and it is now officially a 501c3 charity, which makes all donations tax deductible and, of course, greatly appreciated.  The list of donating members is in the 2009 edition of the Keeshond Donor's Circle Trust booklet.

In the past the KDCT has brought Dr Richard Goldstein, Pat Hastings, and Edward and Pat Gilbert to the National Specialties for informative and thought provoking seminars.  This year the Trust brought Dr Margaret Root-Kustritz to the National in Colorado Springs to speak on "Successful Breeding and Health Management".  Through the generous donations of our members, the Trust provided copies of Dr Root-Kustritz's book to all attendees.

In 2010 the KDCT will be bringing Dr Jaime Modiano, an internationally respected researcher in the field of canine cancers, to the 75th Anniversary Keeshond Club of America National Specialty in Oconomowoc, WI.

Donations to the Trust, in any amount, are greatly appreciated!   Please visit our Donate page to find out your donation options.

If you are interested in joining the KDCT or learning more about it, please visit the About Us page or the Join Us page.

Together we can do great things to ensure the future health and soundness of our beautiful , beloved Keeshonden.
